As she addressed the Iowa Legislature on Jan. 9, Gov. Kim Reynolds made clear her intentions for the next four months. “There are those who said we did too much, too fast,” Reynolds said in her annual Condition of the State speech, recognizing the sweeping changes to education, taxes and other policies she’s signed into law. “But when I look at the result of our hard work, I know we’ve made a difference. And it drives me to do it again, to work even harder this session.” By the time the final gavel fell in the early hours of April 20, ending the 2024 session, legislation reflecting many of Reynolds’ priorities had landed on her desk for her signature — but not without navigating disagreements among Republicans, including some of the most vocal opposition she’s faced under her administration. An analysis of the Legislature and KimReynoldsIA's agenda shows some of her biggest wins and losses this session. Tap the link in our bio for more details. #DesMoines #Iowa #IAlegis #IApo...
