Some may not naturally associate chemistry and cosmetics, but Barnard alumnae Alison Scorese ’16 and Rhitu (Rhi) Risal ’14 have taken their passion for both and launched cutting-edge careers in the beauty industry. Scorese (left), who majored in chemistry, is a research chemist at a large cosmetics company where she formulates new lip products. Risal (right), who majored in economics and minored in dance, is the founder of R2R Cosmetics, a vegan, multipurpose cosmetics brand. She even has a product inspired by the Barnard blue called "Constellation."
