This week in the #GMEVirtualStage spotlight is current Graduate Fellow Bobby Lacy! He leads the Green Machine Ensemble known as the Funk Band, which was made to help develop a musician's ability to learn songs off of the page and flow with performance dynamics. This week, we are featuring Bobby's original piece "You Will Find", with alumni Kendell Haywood featured on percussion. "You Will Find" was inspired by Sam Nestor's Arcadia installment at Mason and was featured in the virtual concert Mason Exhibition, Murals at Home. Bobby said about the piece, "I was really inspired by hearing how much sound, how much communication was coming off of the plants, and realizing; wow, there's so many more things that meet the ear instead of that meet the eye. There is so much more story if you maybe opened your eyes, closed your mouth and listened for once.
