Day24 #aracecaraday is the McLaren MP4-14 from 1999. This was my first taste of an F1 car as a prize for winning the McLaren Autosport young driver award. What a feeling just being in the presence of an F1 car at 19yrs old but to know they were going to let me loose in it was another emotion all together and around Silverstone of all places. I remember leaving the garage thinking don’t stall it don’t stall it! I didn’t gladly and I was on my way to one of the best experiences of my life. The sheer power of the thing was immense but it was the high speed cornering and braking that took my breath away. It just worked as I race car should and I felt at one immediately, sadly the test was only 20laps long but after having a taste of F1 I knew where my future needed to be. 😍#F1 #McLaren 📸credit motorsport.images
