Two years. Gone in the blink of an eye. This time in 2018 I was sitting on my bouncy ball, riding out the contractions. It would still be a few more hours before we left for the hospital, and I had my phone handy to keep timing the contractions throughout the day. I’ve had so many friends tell me they’re terrified of labor. Here’s a little secret: labor is one of my all-time favorite life experiences. I know that’s not the case for everybody, but I remember that day so fondly. Everything from the 2am sandwich the night before to the messed up epidural to the broken stirrup on the bed down to the tiny little details like having the Office on in the background in the delivery room and everyone else but me being allowed to eat Jack in the Box (I eventually got McDonald’s later lol).
