The improvement of aeration conditions in the rhizosphere is great for crop growth and yields, but less was known about the effect of nanobubble technology on the soil microbial community. This study by Zhou et al. 2020 from the Journal of Soil Biology and Biochemistry revealed that the application of nanobubbles to soil improved plant yield, and that this response was strongly associated with a better nutritional content of nanobubble-irrigated soils and changes in the bacterial community.
