Seton Hall Pirate alum Pete LaCorte’s brief memory of driving 4 hours from Long Island down to the Headliner for a JSBL game is the perfect depiction of who he was as a player; dependable and consistent. You could count on LaCorte always being there, scoring his 20+ points, and grabbing his 8+ rebounds. He did this consistently from the mid-70’s at Jerry Lynch’s to the late 80’s at the Headliner for numerous teams surrounded by numerous teammates. The statement “The JSBL was my NBA” is particularly meaningful when you consider that roughly 100 NBA players took the court at the Headliner from 1976-1988 yet the player that scored the most points in that timeframe was not an NBA player. That player was Pete LaCorte. Thank you Pete. It was a pleasure seeing and honoring you at the “55” championship game and ceremony. #JSBL #JSBLHoops
