We are thrilled to share the news that E. Patrick Johnson will be the seventh dean of the School of Communication, effective August 1. Johnson is the Carlos Montezuma Professor of African American Studies and Performance Studies both here and in weinbergcollege. Not only is he a brilliant and highly decorated performer, scholar, and writer, Johnson has been with the SoC since 2000 and has a keen appreciation for the complexity in managing a school as dynamic, global, and interdisciplinary as ours. He succeeds Barbara O’Keefe, whose tireless 20-year run is marked by the SoC’s remarkable growth. Please join us in congratulating both E.
