Taking the new suit for a swim 👙
Axiom.Space recently tested its Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) lunar spacesuit for the first time in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at NASAJohnson Space Center.
The uncrewed suit was submerged underwater and weighed out to simulate the gravity environment of the lunar surface, which is about 1/6th of the gravity we experience on Earth. Future tests will include a human inside of the spacesuit.

The view underwater is through a circular lens and the image is tinted with a cerulean blue. The suit stands upright on the bottom of the pool near an American flag. Two divers position themselves around the suit.
