Would you mind doing me a favor and picking up [child] from school and we can talk more about this?” •NEVER heard from them again. They stopped answering my calls and responding to my texts. •NEVER, at the very least, received gas money for a 30+ minute drive when I had less than $100 to my name (they were making multiple 6-figures). •NEVER felt so stupid and taken advantage of. •NEVER HAVE I EVER been asked to perform a personal task for a superior DURING THE MIDDLE OF MY WORK DAY as an intern w/out receiving pay for my services all the while being manipulated/fearmongered into silence throughout the entire experience under the premise that they would help me get a role that I EARNED.
