Meet Christopher Lord - a cashier at McElroy. A typical day for Christopher consists of doing “a little bit of everything” – be it running food, cleaning tables, or helping out students. Christopher joined BC Dining 14 months ago and enjoys providing great customer service to the BC community. Christopher grew up in Bangkok, Thailand, learning to cook from his family, primarily his mother. “My family has a restaurant in Thailand,” he said. “It’s part of a market. We cook, we do pad thai, fried rice – food is made to order for our customers, we make whatever they want.” Reflecting on the differences between food in Thailand and here, he says that nothing compares to Thai food cooked back home – not only in flavor but also in the community. “My family comes together around food,” he said. “Every holiday, we enjoy sitting down and talking, reflecting and talking about the future.” Although his time at BC has been relatively short, he has already fallen in love with the campus comm...
