For 33 years I have avoided eating mushrooms. I picked them off of all my food or requested them be removed in the cooking process but since we’ve been focused on eating locally, my attitude has changed. Our backyard grown shiitakes have been incredibly delicious (the few that have grown so far) and on Wednesday night maizerestaurant prepared a dish with a portobello that was absolutely incredible. Maybe it’s not the food you don’t like. Maybe you just want something with flavor. Maybe you just want something fresh.
