Marineland of the Pacific, situated on the coast of the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County, California, was a renowned oceanarium and tourist spot. The main structure, designed by architect William Pereira, earned it the nickname “Hanna-Barbera’s Marineland” in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Operating from 1954 to 1987, it saw a transition when it was acquired by the owners of SeaWorld San Diego, who relocated its beloved killer whales and other animals to their San Diego location, resulting in the sudden closure of Marineland.
Currently home to Terranea Resort.
