Happy Cranberry Week! Did you know that there are 2 ways to harvest cranberries? 😍 Yup! And both happen right here in Massachusetts. For one, we put on waders and got waist-deep in glorious berries. This is a wet harvest; where farmers flood the bog with water, causing all the berries to float up and create that infamous red sea. (Every cranberry has a tiny pocket of air inside it which makes it an excellent floating device!) The second is dry harvest - where people pick the berries by hand or use harvesting machines which comb the berries off of their low, dense bushes. (Scroll to see! It's also super cool.)
