Today kicks off the beginning of #NationalRoadSafetyWeek. Officers from around the state, including Assistant Commissioner Glenn Weir, today took part in the annual 'Shine a Light on Road Safety' walk at Albert Park. The annual initiative aims to highlight the impacts of road trauma, and the importance of driving safely to ensure everyone makes it to their destination safely. While road safety is important every day, this week is a good reminder on the importance of sharing the road. Some things to remember before you head off: 🚘 Avoid distractions - including your phone and passengers. 🚘 Look out for other road users, including motorcyclists and pedestrians. 🚘 Drive to conditions, especially with reduced visibility and inclement weather coming up. 🚘 Take regular breaks on long drives to avoid fatigue.
