Downtown St. Pete is World Cup central for the next few weeks, as the footy celebration starts daily at marymargaretsdtsp and spreads throughout the city. The first of three Team USA usmnt World Cup watch parties in Williams Park, cohosted by the tampabayrowdies, took place on Monday as the park was filled with Red, White and Blue-clad fans, food trucks, beer tents, live music and big celebrations. The next one is scheduled for this Friday when USA take on England in a key group stage match at 2 pm. Meanwhile, Mary Margaret’s is showing every single game of the World Cup, with game broadcast sound on, no matter the time of the day. In the mornings, they’re serving up Irish breakfast to help keep everyone fed. Sunday afternoon, the bar was packed with Ecuadorians to watch their team win the opening round, and each game brings fans of the participating countries to the scene.
