After nearly two years of anticipation, originalflavor1889 is now open at 409 Central Avenue. The Italian wine bar and self-described “temple of pizza” showcases a contemporary take on Neapolitan pizza, pasta, traditional Italian light bites, and an extensive wine selection. The interior space has been beautifully renovated with two bars, two dining areas, and a bright, airy atmosphere looking onto Central Avenue. The restaurant opens daily at 4 pm. Original Flavor’s pizzaiolo is from Naples, Italy, with more than 20 years of experience as a chef, and he employs a careful selection of highly-fermented ancient grains and a contemporary, slow-maturing yeast to create a pizza dough that is light, fluffy, and highly-digestible.
