The City of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with the tampabaywatch kicked off the living shoreline project at Lassing Park, Beach Dr. SE & 18th Ave. S. The project could help stabilize 700 feet of eroding shoreline. It’s also providing hard bottom habitats for fish and wildlife resources and promoting water quality improvements in the Tampa Bay ecosystem. On Earth Day, Tampa Bay Watch and 100+ volunteers installed 10 tons oyster shell reef, 100 oyster Reef Balls and 2000 salt marsh grasses at Lassing Park in St. Pete.
