What is LUX's "Thumb Rule" and why do we use it?
All employees at LUX know and utilize the "thumb rule" when setting your flatware. The thumb rule uses the length of the first knuckle of the thumb to determine the placement of your dinner fork and knife from the tables edge. From there, depending on the shape of the table, we align any other silverware which may include a salad fork, and/or a dessert spoon. This rule helps ensure your tableware is perfectly aligned at every single table.
So don't worry, we take your tableware seriously!
