Today I played my first game as a professional hockey player. As many of you know, as a Black woman in a majority white sport, I have never felt completely welcomed and supported by those around me. Today, that changed. Today, as I stepped onto the ice I knew that each and every one of my teammates had my back and supported not only me as a Black woman in the game but for all I stand for, promote and represent. Kneeling or not kneeling, the one thing that is for sure is that we as the riveters team and organization, know that there is no longer a place or tolerance for racism in our sport.
