Since that time, I have bounced around from the US back to my home in Trinidad with stops in the UK. I returned to the US most recently in 2011 to accept a teaching job. My life quickly changed in 2013 when I married someone in another city, and began commuting between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Commuting for 8 years took its toll. As I made the decision that it would be my final year enduring the commute, I started to look at other options and avenues to work outside of the education environment. Cooking is an area that has always been a passion for me and my native Trinidadian food is quite unique so it seemed a natural choice to follow this path.
