In honor of MLK Week, we’re tying a present-day trailblazer and community leader to one of the past: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., himself. ✊🏾 Dr. King empowered and mobilized the Black community. As much as he petitioned for cooperation from the ‘powers that be’, he knew that uplifting his own community would almost be of greater importance and impact. Today we have individuals dedicated to continuing Dr. King's legacy by building community among Black people and making safe spaces for the community to thrive.
