Last week we hosted Colorado Governor Jared Polis at the Melted Gondola installation to discuss our commitment to combatting the climate crisis as a company and a community. As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this season, we reflect on our history and look forward to our future. Ski resorts are inherently on the front lines of climate change—which is why we built the first solar array and micro-hydroelectric generator in the industry. It’s why we’ve invested in a methane-to-electricity plant that eliminates methane equivalent to three times our annual carbon footprint. Yet, climate change has persisted, reminding us that none of us can solve this crisis on our own. At this rate, our ski season will continue melting away unless we ALL get serious about climate change.
