Nestled in the heart of the Rockies, Aspen has long been known as a mountainside destination for arts and culture. Aspen Skiing Company co-founders Walter and Elizabeth Paepcke (who also created the Aspen Institute and the Aspen Music Festival) saw that the town of Aspen had the potential to be a “center for dialogue, a place for lifting us out of our usual selves”. By spending time here, they thought, folks could develop their minds, their bodies, and in turn, their spirits.     Known as the “Aspen Idea,” this co-nurturing of all three parts of ourselves remains an integral part of our community’s DNA, and of how we do business. It’s in our roots. Whether we’re exhibiting art on-mountain, engaging in conversations with guests from across the world, or hiking Highland Bowl for the first—or fiftieth—time. #75YearsOfAspenSnowmass (Photo: Sam Axeness)
