What a sight to behold. Standing tall amongst a series of mazes and paths is none other than the imposing Himeji Castle. It was first constructed in the 14th century and then massively rebuilt and extended in the late 16th-early 17th by Kuroda Yoshitaka and Ikeda Terumasa with a confusing maze of paths surrounding it. Invading armies would have to navigate the labyrinth to even reach the main gate allowing for them to string out the attackers and fire on the vanguard while they attempted their approach. I can recall countless times I have built this wonder in Civ 5 and benefited from the helpful combat strength bonus my units would gain when an opponent got a little too bloodthirsty and tried to creep into my territory.
