Major Wentzell is the Deputy Commanding Officer of the 48th Highlanders of Canada and the incoming Commanding Officer. He joined the 48th in 2011 and has served in a variety of positions. His talk will focus on the 48th Highlanders involvement in the Liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War. This will include the unit’s planned commemorative activities for the eightieth anniversary of the Liberation in 2025. Major Wentzell is pictured with a painting of Lieutenant Colonel Donald Alexander Mackenzie. Mackenzie was the Commanding Officer of the 48th Highlanders in Italy and the Netherlands.
