Welcome to another #ScenicSunday where we go beyond the standard #USNA tour and showcase places around the yard that are not usually seen by the public. This week we are featuring the Brigade Laundry facilities! Did you know that Brigade Laundry is responsible for handling approximately 4,400 midshipmen’s laundry? The process takes about an hour and is crucial to a midshipman’s way of life at the Academy. Laundry services include clothes being washed, pressed, steamed, and folded. The overall turnaround time for laundry is a couple of days. #FunFact: there are 40 Naval Academy Business Service Division (NABSD) employees who take part in supporting the Brigade in this process. Many have been working here for over 30 years, and some are part of a long legacy of service at #USNA⚓️. You can see the pride and knowledge that goes into this massive production.
