In 1991, just one year after winning Resistol Rookie of the Year, Fred Whitfield won his first PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Championship and NFR Average title by placing in 6 out of 10 rounds, winning two of them. Whitfield would go on to become an 8x World Champion, 4x NFR Average winner, 20x NFR qualifier, and a ProRodeo Hall of Famer. #TieDownTuesday
