Meet Katie Houmard, a teacher whose classroom isn't confined to four walls but spans the bustling hallways and departments of ECU Health Medical Center. Katie is the Project SEARCH instructor, which is a one-year internship program for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities after they complete high school with the goal of providing real-world practical skills and increasing the chances of competitive employment.
