Queen Archilene J. Turner was Miss Tennessee State for the 1955-56 school year. Turner, a Nashville native, majored in Business Education and was employed in the University’s Public Relations Department. While at TSU, she was involved on the yearbook staff, University Counselors, and the Student Christian Association. Her sophomore year she was elected Miss Sophomore and was voted to be Sweetheart of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. She was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. We celebrate HERStory!
