I refuse to say war, because that implies that there’s two equal sides while this is an oppressed people and an oppresser, a coloniser and colonised! What I lived through 7 years ago in 2014 alone not mentioning the horrific attacks in 2008, 2012 still haunts me every single day. Living with trauma when it’s still happening is so exhausting and even though I left Gaza those days still scare me as if it was yesterday. Healing is a long process and what’s happening back home is traumatising generations after generations! I can’t ever find the words to describe the amount of pain and suffering we’ve been living through for decades.
