We're still riding high from 21cKC being named the #1 Hotel in the Midwest and #15 in the World, so we are shining a light on another site specific work found there!⁠ 21cKC combines historic architecture and design with contemporary art. The chandelier is the largest work in the artists’ series of sculptures, introduced at the 2013 Singapore Biennial. Entitled Crystal Palace: The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of all Nuclear Nations, the installation was comprised of 31 uranium glass chandeliers. Utilizing the rarely employed material of uranium glass, the size of the chandelier corresponds to the scale of each country’s nuclear power capacity.
