This #LaborDay, we honor the long history and on-going efforts of labor rights activists who continue to fight for equal and equitable pay, safe working conditions, the interests of the environment, and the rights of workers everywhere. Inspired by children’s stories, art history, personal experience, and mass media, Amy Cutler’s imagery recalls surreal fairytales or fantastic dreamscapes. Here, the women in ‘Loom’ are weaving their own hair on massive looms into the coiled seats upon which they perch.
