I haven’t posted in a couple days mainly because it was so hard to be surrounded by the heroism displayed by my brothers and sisters in blue and feel inclined to post something that felt like a “hey look at me” moment ya know? I didn’t come here for that. I came here with the other tens of thousands of people who wanted to remember and honor those who serve and have served. But I needed to share this moment with you. The lighting of the candles in memory of the over 23,000 officers who have died in the line of duty. I invite you to feel the loss some of these kids, spouses, family members and friends feel. I invite you to grieve with them as it helps with their process in healing. And I offer up a rendition of this song in hopes that it provides some comfort and solace to the family members who kissed their loved ones goodbye as they went in to work and never made it home. nleomf #policeweek #memorial
