Happy Memorial Day! Hope you all are having a wonderful day keeping all our military heroes that died while serving our country in your thoughts and prayers. Today, we are sharing some basic sugar cookies that are marbelized in red, white, and blue for our foodie salute to those who made our freedom possible.  . . . My cookies are shortcut sugar cookies that admittedly expanded a little too much in the oven, but I think the marbleized icing technique saved them. I have not mastered sugar cookie cutouts from store-bought dough but didn't have the time to dabble with my homemade recipe. I am more of a traditional baker but not a decorator.
