Happy International Women’s Day! Today we celebrate all the incredible women around the world. 🎉 On this special occasion of #IWD, we revisit the 12th edition of #BMWArtCar by Esther Mahlangu, the first female Art Car artist. She redesigned the #BMW 525i in 1991 with the Ndebele pattern, an African tradition that is passed exclusively among women. More remarkably, it was the first time a woman had been responsible for designing a vehicle in the Art Car series. In 2016, Mahlangu transformed a #BMW7 Series into a dynamic work of art by painting her characteristic motifs on the wood interior trims. It was a masterpiece of African Ndebele art.
