A little more than three weeks after the establishment of the UC Berkeley “Free Palestine Encampment,” protesters have reached an agreement with campus administration, taking down the majority of their tents this afternoon. In a letter to the UC Academic Senate, Chancellor Carol Christ agreed to “support a comprehensive and rigorous examination” of campus investments in exchange for decampment. According to protesters, the agreement is only a step towards continued demands for academic boycott and full divestment from Israel.
