Believe it or not, Cape Disappointment State Park in #Washington is NOT a disappointing visit! In celebration of National Beach Day, let's take a second to appreciate this oft-misunderstood state park! Located on an outer bank across Baker Bay and the Columbia River, the cape is named after a failed expedition to cross the river in 1788. Today, you can explore the beach by visiting Fort Canby, the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, North Head Lighthouse, and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
