“Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!’” - Robin Williams.
For over a century, Washington, D.C., has celebrated the arrival of spring with a huge party: the National Cherry Blossom Festival! 🎉
The festival originated in 1912 when the mayor of Tokyo gifted 3,000 gorgeous cherry blossom trees to Washington, D.C., as a symbol of friendship. Since then, the trees have become an icon of international friendship and the end of the cold winter months.
You can join the celebration from wherever you are by downloading the ParkPassport app and checking out the live Cherry Blossom Cam from the National Mall! 🤳
The festival attracts visitors from all over the world, because really, can you imagine anything more fun than enjoying the blooms with your friends? 🌸 😍
