Actually, I was very surprised that hunger and food insecurity is even a thing on campus, and I just couldn't ignore the fact that there is a need and I could help. In addition, my management and communication skills are continuously evolving through on-going collaboration with staff advisors and Campus Life leadership. I also get to work closely with some of the chefs in the Dining Services and manage volunteers to coordinate food recovery activities.
