Best of the Decade #2: 2017 National Tournament Run . . The 2016-17 was met with great anticipation after the hiring of new head coach Gary Astalos in the off seasons and an addition of what seemed to be one of the most promising freshman classes since the class of 2014-2018. . . The team would roll through the season with a 31-2 record and won the GLCHL regular season but fell short in the GLCHL playoff title game. . . The team would then take things to the national tournament and roll their way past Midland and then conference foe Davenport to reach the National Semifinals for the first time in program history. . . Unfortunately, the season would end in the semifinal by a score of 2-4 but the season marked a turning point in the program and showed signs of what was to come from the Class of 2020 and coach Gary Astalos. . . #CommittoExcellence #DawgsMomentsoftheDecade
