Best of the Decade #3: Gary Astalos . . Head Coach Gary Astalos came to the MD1 team in May of 2016 after another season that came and went with a loss in the first game of the National Tournament with a team that many thought should be going further than just one and done. . . The 2016-17 season was met with great anticipation and started out strong with only one loss in the first semester against Davenport and ended with a heartbreaking loss in the national semifinals, the first time the team reached the national semifinals. . . The next season was marked by three titles, GLCHL Regular Season, GLCHL Playoff and National Championship titles. . . During the 2017-18 season, Coach Astalos would reach 50 wins in only his 54th game behind the bench as he became the quickest Adrian Hockey coach to 50 wins. . . That season, Astalos was named both GLCHL and ACHA Coach of the Year. . . The 2018-19 season ended in the National Quarterfinals, but Coach Astalos picked up his 100th win in his 107t...
