For Acting Sergeant Alexander Gettens, the decision to move from metropolitan to regional policing wasn’t one he considered when first joining Victoria Police. After completing his training and general duties in metropolitan Melbourne, a craving for challenge and opportunities for promotions saw Alexander move his young family to regional Victoria, and they’ve never looked back.
