It’s true that not all heroes wear capes, but some wear lab coats. 🥼 To mark the end of #NationalScienceWeek, we’re celebrating some of the faces behind our Forensics Service Department (FSD). First up is Clay from our Fingerprint Sciences Unit – a keen geologist and hobby palaeontologist, turned Forensic Officer. His job is to examine fingerprint exhibits from crime scenes. Next up is Madeline, a Forensic Botanist in our Botany Unit. A lover of plants, she uses identification techniques to formally classify plant exhibits obtained from crime scenes and under warrant. Last but not least is Sergeant Andrew Nisbet from our Ballistics Unit. They take care of firearm identification to examining crime scenes involving firearms, among other things! These are just three of the over 500 people that make up our amazing FSD, who play a crucial role in the justice process and keeping our community safe. #ForensicScience
