Processing over 340 offenders and issuing 1372 charges, our VIPER taskforce looks back on its first 12 months of operation. Highlights include: 🐍 Over 560 Firearm Prohibition Order searches conducted and served a further 37. 🐍 More than $1.4 million in cash seized 🐍 Seized 81 firearms and imitation firearms, as well as 119 prohibited weapons 🐍 Made over 745 seizures of illicit drugs of varying quantities and types 🐍 Intercepted 1702 vehicles and impounded 66. Averaging one arrest per day, the unit was launched as a new approach to fighting and responding to serious and organised crime with the ability to be deployed across Victoria on short notice.
