Search and Rescue Squad divers put their skills to the test last week as they inspected the submerged remains of a sunken vessel.
With assistance from Water Police, divers located the vessel at the bottom of Port Phillip Bay, about 11 metres underwater.
It follows an incident several weeks ago where a luxury boat caught fire off St Kilda.
Although the fire is not believed to be suspicious, it continues to be investigated by Marine Investigation Unit detectives.
Our Search and Rescue Squad officers are trained and commercially certified to dive up to 50m, allowing them to cover all waterways in Victoria.
A large part of their diving operations involves searching and recovering evidence.
