Here’s the
#1 rule of selling I live by:
If you don’t understand your buyer, you’ll never make a sale.
Here’s how I know this:
I started my first business when I was 11 doing door-to-door sales.
At first, it was just me, putting on my best sales pitch.
But people had no problem saying “no” to an *older kid*.
So, I started taking my younger sister.
*My conversion rate skyrocketed.*
This wasn’t some calculated strategy from a seasoned salesman.
I was just a young kid playing on the emotional component of buying.
People could say no to an older kid, but nobody would want to break the heart of a young-girl.
*This laid the foundation for the way I approach sales.*
It taught me to tap into:
- What motivates buyers,
- What compels them, and
- What drives them to make a decision.
I learned to ask myself:
- Am I connecting with my audience?
- Am I understanding their motivations?
If the answer is no, I quickly reflect and readjust my strategies…
Because your business isn’t just...
