On Monday, we finally got to go check out the new fleet of bikes Safe Routes to School bought with last year’s FoCo Fondo donation and ride with the kids a bit. In Fort Collins, kids have a bike class every few years from elementary through high school, like drivers ed for riding. So cool. Unsurprisingly we have a much higher than normal rate of kids riding, scooting or walking to school. This Safe Routes Program also runs after-school bike and scooter clubs, among many other really rad programs they dream up.
