I am not fearless. The idea of taking a 9-day road trip with our baby without any help from my husband was intimidating… There were so many unknowns and “what ifs” in my head… but I decided to trust myself. Here’s the thing. I didn’t start big with my adventures with Riley. I started small: walks by myself with her (from the house), then driving somewhere to walk, then hikes, then longer hikes, then a road trip with my husband, then an international trip with a friend, etc. Each adventure building up my confidence. Each adventure showing me that even if I don’t have it “all figured out” yet, everything is still figureoutable. I don’t think you have to take a 9-day solo road trip to have fun and fulfilling moments with your kiddo, but I have heard from many moms how scary it can feel to even go for a short hike alone.
