Shooting a visual experience of a world which exists within and beneath the earth, expanding this outward to weather systems and celestial bodies, and refining this experience through hyper-macro allows us to create a closeness and connection with the entire landscape. It allows us to invite audiences into a shared and united experience with the environment - the place which Pangolin calls home, as do we. Filming in an environment inhabited by apex predators like lions and leopards, as well as megafaunas such as elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes, presents obvious safety challenges, especially on foot at night.
